  • Brenda helped me buy a home

Brenda was our agent when we purchased our home in 2013. I sent her the listings I wanted to see, she did not send me listings. Her assistant wrote our offer and submitted it, not her. She attempted to talk us out of purchasing the home, even bringing a friend to one of our walk-throughs with our builder. She then suggested a mortgage broker who provided us with astronomical rates that would have made the home unaffordable (we went to a bank who laughed at the rates we were given by the broker Brenda sent us to), and then had her assistant handle the majority of the process from there. I had more interactions with the builder's real estate agent and found it more effective and easier to reach her than it ever was to reach Brenda. When it came time for closing, Brenda suddenly had a trip out of the country planned and couldn't attend, again sending her assistant. Mind you, we were buying new construction and the closing was not delayed by much. However, I truly felt as though her assistant Brian deserved the commission for that sale, NOT Brenda. The question below asks in what areas did Brenda excel - I cannot truly answer that she excelled at any of them, though she was very good with my children who were along to look at houses with me.
