Edwine Montas

Edwine Montas is an incredibly unscrupulous, incompetent, and unprofessional realtor who should have her license revoked. AVOID WORKING WITH HER. I am officially filing a complaint with the DBPR, and I encourage you to review it before working with her. She seems nice, but in reality she cannot be trusted. Edwine: * Lied to me and to my realtor, about the status of a property she represented. In reality, the house was buried in liens and had an owner who fled to country to avoid debts while filing for bankruptcy. None of this was disclosed until AFTER I was under contract. * Falsely represented information regarding the salability and status of the property. * Fraudulently entered into a contract with me for a house that she was not in a position to sell under the circumstances. * Refused to reimburse me for expenses that I incurred based on her instructions and based on the issuance of a signed contract that obviously implies the intent to proceed with the process of the sale, and thus incur the related expenses. * Cancelled the contract of sale on behalf of the seller. Through her unprofessional and fraudulent behavior, she entrapped me in a scenario that left me no other option but to accept the cancellation in order to recover my escrow payment. * Conducted herself with impunity in regard to these actions. * Behaved unprofessionally through her refusal to return the majority of my calls and messages, and ultimately hung up on me after stating, "you can try to do to me whatever you want" in response to my request that she is, at minimum, obligated to reimburse me for the expenses she caused me to incur. In short, she lied about the state of the house, then executed a contract of sale with me which caused me to incur costs, then illegally backed out of the deal and refused to reimburse me, much less attempt to rectify the situation. All based on knowledge she possessed in advance which she failed to disclose. I don't know if her behavior is criminal, but she is definitely not scrupulous.
