My wife and I worked with Geoff Rue to purchase our first home and we are glad we chose him to be our agent. Geoff was very knowledgeable about market and the area of interest as well as being honest, approachable, personable and extremely patient. Geoff was readily available to answer any questions (of which we had many) at any given time of day or night. He listened to our requirements and made sure to send frequent updates on homes that met our criteria. On the weekends he was very organized in scheduling our viewings so we could make it to all the Open Houses we wanted to see as well as any private listings. As we were newbies to home buying process we certainly required a lot of extra time and attention which Geoff was more than happy to provide. He answered all our questions and explained every form and part of the process clearly and thoroughly. We even had some minor hiccups after the closong of escrow and the transfer of home was complete, but thankfully Geoff remained in our corner ready to assist us in any way possible. Not only does Geoff know the area extremely well, I love that he comes from a construction background so he knows how to find a well constructed house that will make a great home! Geoff was extremely patient and helped us find the exact home we were looking for. More than this he also helped to manage our expectations, answered all of our questions even when we may have appeared to disagree as a couple on what we were looking for. One of things I most appreciated about Geoff is that he explained every step we took and when we worried about a specific thing, he reassured us. Buying a rental property in Santa Barbara when you don't live there is no easy task. Geoff took us to available properties in all areas of Santa Barbara to give us the lay of the land. Next, he helped us focus in on two areas which worked best for price and value. After finding us an excellent property with great rental income potential, he helped us through the inspection period meeting the contractors when our schedules wouldn't allow and taking care of any details we couldn't attend to ourselves. His contact list of qualified inspectors, and contractors (electricians, plumbers etc) were really good. He was always available for all of our questions and followed up quickly if he didn't know the answer. All in all, Geoff helped us make a very stressful endeavor an enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend him.
