- Joseph listed and sold my home
Joe helped me prepare my condo for sale and it sold on the first day of listing at the full price. Joe also helped me choose my new carriage home and was with me every step of the way, including both closings happening on the same day! Joe is the consummate professional. He always had time for me. No question was too small. Should I decide to move again in Naples, Joe Barrett is the only person I will trust.

He made purchasing a house in Naples a nightmare for us. I had to do all the research on the properties, pulling up flood zone maps, permits etc.. His negotiating skills are minimal at best. I do not usually leave a negative review like this but I felt compelled to do so. I wanted out of my agreement with him that I would work with him in Naples and when I called him to demand he cancel our agreement except for the properties he showed us he yelled at me and told me “don’t call me again”. I finally received an acceptable document after three attempts that ended our agreement. We ended up cancelling our contract on a house we really wanted because of the way he wrote up the contract and other issues we had with him. He did not have our best interests at heart, only his own and making a commission. He mistakingly thought I was a novice with contracts and real estate. He did not cancel our contract when. I had my husband call him and demand he cancel it. He told my husband to sleep on it. We reiterated “ no, cancel the contract”. He said the contract would terminate on its own when we don’t put down the deposit the following day. Again, he was either lying or clueless. That would have put us out of contract leaving us with a potential lawsuit from the owner. I had to email him and his broker call and text demanding he cancel it now because he never cancelled it the day we demanded he do so. Save yourself the grief and aggravation we went through. Find an agent who has sold more than two properties a year and will go to bat for you and is actually negotiating on your behalf. One that gets you the necessary documents you need such as a seller’s disclosure, elevation certificate etc…. He should have paid me for the work I had to do. He wouldn’t even negotiate to have the seller pay his 3% fee. He made this experience an exhausting and frustrating. Do not put yourself through the stress we went through. He is self serving and should not have a real estate license.
