      * Be very careful and do your research when selecting a real estate agent. Lauren Kraus lied to us, withheld important information, charged us thousands more than quoted to do work on our home, abandon us in escrow, discriminated against us for being on COVID19 Forbearance, and jumped sides to help the buyer buy our home* ****SELLER OR BUYER BEWARE**** It is important for us to express how shocked we were after Laurens phone call this evening and I needed to put all of this in writing. I don't know how things went sour so quickly in just a few days with us and Lauren. We kept her informed about every single thing that was going on with our COVID 19 forbearance, VA Loan Modification work-out, and the VA Refund Modification we were approved for on December 21, 2022. We were making monthly payments to her to pay for work done to our home prior to selling and for the 4th bedroom remodel. I did not understand what the 17-day contingency consisted of, and I could not get a straight answer from Lauren. She called us this evening and after yelling at me and telling me many times, "You Don't Fucking Get It Do You! What do you do with your money because you are not making your house payment?" This was so demeaning and uncalled for. We are retired and receive social security which puts us on a limited income. She told us that sending a "Notice to Perform" would do nothing because the buyer was performing when she asked for an update on 1/23 & 1/24 even though we were past the 17 days. She ended the conversation by telling us that everyone is very angry with us and if we do not come up with the remaining money to close escrow everyone is coming after us and we will be sued. This will follow us for the rest of our life, and it will be a horrible experience! We are sorry we did not understand everything because it was not explained to us. Getting short and disgusted with people because they don't understand is not on us it is on Lauren. Selling real estate might be routine for Lauren and easy to understand because she does it every day, but it is not something we do every day. It was NEVER part of the plan to have to pay over $10k at closing or now $5229.11 we are very thankful for everyone pitching in, but we are not bad people. Lauren, the buyers agent, and Kathy (Lauren's manager) tried to make us sign a form stating we couldn't make a complaint against them or make disparaging comments against them and if we didn't sign it they were taking back the $5000 credit and we would have to pay it or be sued for everything we have and don't have. DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!!! Evie Woodard
