  • Mike helped me buy a home

Failure to have the customer best interest at heart. Tried to talk me out of a great deal on this 4500 square foot beautiful 16 yr house that was well under market value. Wanted me to buy a more expensive property. Failure to push to have things completed to meet closing deadline. I had to do research on my own to hold the selling agent accountable because he refused to get contractors to get things fixed on the house as instructed by the bank that owned it.Selling agent told me that he could sell the house at a higher price and that if I didn't like I go elsewhere. I notified Mike about this and he said he didn't wanna push. I totally felt like he didn't care. He did the bare minimum. I asked him to call the bank to hold this selling agent accountable he said he didn't have the information. I had to research to find the bank contact person myself by researching online and linked in and I was the one to push to get things done because if I didn't the would have missed my deadline. Which Mike really didn't care that much about because he wanted me to buy a higher price property. My wife noticed it as well. Also I was the one that found the house actually not him. I was the one that constantly keep things updated. He has a very laid back, lack of urgency demeanor that was not what was conducive to the process. Failed to find homes that fit my criteria and pushed me to find other types of properties so I finally played along and got access to the MLS and found this house in like less than a week of being on it. This is my first house and it was a completely horrible experience! I could have did this myself with out a realtor he served no purpose. His good qualities was his availability to look at homes and knowledge of price points in the area. Mike would work better selling outside of a metropolitan area to work at a slower pace. Mike had a nice personality but just not the firmness needed and assertiveness needed for complex situations. I learned a lot from this situation and I hope he did as well. Push to make sure customers are taken care of and take the necessary steps to get things accomplished! Have a sense of urgency. Especially working in the DC area with highly educated, progressive clientele.
