When my Fianc and I started looking for our first home this year, we knew it would be a challenge. The market was tough and we had never bought a house before so we knew basically nothing about the process. A friend referred Ruth Anne to us and we didnt know at the time, but she was EXACTLY the realtor we needed.To start with, Ruth Anne is great at the basics. She quickly learned what we were looking for and taught us about common issues that we should avoid as well as small details that would make a massive positive difference. Any good realtor will do that for you, but Ruth Anne sets herself apart by what she does beyond the basics. In general she is professional, kind, funny, and a joy to work with. She was also very patient with us and would enthusiastically show us any house we wanted to see even if she knew before we did that we wouldnt like it. Not only that, but during the 6 month process she never put any pressure on us to buy a house that we didnt love. Toward the end, we started to feel like we might be better off buying something we didnt really like just to be done. A lesser realtor would have pushed us down that path to get paid and move on to their next job. Ruth Anne refused to let us give up, instead encouraging us to trust the process and maintaining complete confidence that we would find a great home. We listened to her advice and a couple weeks later she had found us the most perfect house to start the next chapter of our lives in. It truly is better than what we thought possible.I havent even mentioned how Ruth Anne will work around your schedule, happily set up showings for you on short notice, fight ferociously on your behalf with great effect, or any of the thousand other things she does that make her a phenomenal realtor and made us love working with her. Especially in this difficult market, having Ruth Anne made all the difference in the world. She is the best there is, and we could not be more grateful to have worked with her!

I could write a 10 page essay on how her real estate knowledge, professionalism, and relentless positive attitude transformed a stressful situation into an extremely positive experience.To quickly highlight, to purchase the home we had wanted the lender told us late in the game that we would need to sell our current home - Ruth Anne got that done in two weeks (over asking price). Ruth Anne Strauss has been amazing to work with from the very beginning (and continues to be available for questions even after we've closed on our house). We moved to Maryland from Virginia in early March 2023 and started working with a different real estate agent to find a house to buy since we were living in an apartment in Towson. We were unhappy with that realtor, and after going to an open house that Ruth Anne was hosting and meeting her, we knew we had to switch. The minute we started working with Ruth Anne, it felt like we had been working with her all along. The transition was so easy, as she is very personable, friendly, and knowledgeable about the real estate market. Over the first half of summer 2023, she took us to some houses and even sent us via email some suggestions of houses to look at based on our criteria and what we were looking for. In late July 2023, when we found "the one" at another open house and wanted to put an offer in, Ruth Anne was right there with us, making the process as easy as possible. She is very communicative and really advocates for her clients. She was in contact regularly with the sellers agent and then once we found out our offer had been accepted, Ruth Anne helped us through the process of the inspection, worked with us to decide what we would ask the sellers to repair, and giving us recommendations on a roofer (when the sellers offered us a credit for roof repairs that we asked for). Ruth Anne also texted me (Grace) while we were waiting for closing day to say how excited she was for us, asked if we had any questions, how the packing was going, etc. We are doing a rent-back agreement with the sellers, so we still have 3-4 weeks before we can move into our new house, but Ruth Anne is already planning to do a final walk-through with us after the sellers have vacated to ensure that nothing was broken or damaged.
