After 9 years as a Navy wife and 11 as a civilian's wife, 11 moves, 3 countries, and 2 states, my family of four and I have found a home here in Holly Springs, North Carolina! I simply cannot imagine a better place to raise a family, retire, or simply put roots down! Let me back it up though...I was born in the Azores Islands, Portugal (it's a very small dot in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean) and that's where I met and married an American sailor. We embarked in a 20 year journey that led us to Scotland, Maryland, Portugal, and back to Maryland. One day, about five years ago, my husband's company was sold and we looked at each other and said, "Where is THE best place to raise our family in the United States?"
