I have always been a “Carolina Girl”, and proud of it. I was born and raised in South Carolina, and after graduating from Hampton University in Virginia, I started my adult life in Columbia, SC. I graduated, got married, and started my career with IBM as a Systems Engineer all within the span of one month, and at the age of 20! I am a confirmed multiprocessor, and rarely am I only doing or even thinking about one thing at a time. This served me well in my work at IBM, and my volunteer work with the Girl Scouts and my alumni association. I provided the first computer experience to countless businesses in South Carolina. These were critical encounters in that the customers were willing to literally risk their business, and they were transformed into loyal customers.
