On July 22nd, we file a rental application for the single-family residence located at 4516 Foxhall Crescent, Washington DC, with Terring Wang Group through Mary Saltzman from Compass. The lease would start on July 30th, 2021. Terring Wang was very slow in responding to us and blamed it on the homeowner who resides abroad. Terring Wang exchanged several e-mails and phone calls with the Compass agent, negotiated the contract and on July 15th, sent us the agreement to be signed. We executed the contract on July 15th. On July 16th, Terring Wang stopped responding to Compass agent’s e-mails and phone calls. On July 19th, the Compass agent was notified via e-mail that she would not be renting the home to us. We contacted Terring Wang, and she said that she received several applications and decided to rent the property to another person who offered more money. In the course of 27 days, Terring Wang maliciously lied to, acted in bad faith and unethically. She charged an application fee, lied, and pretended she was negotiating the property with us while showing the property to other applicants and waiting to receive the highest bid. The Real Estate Board should not turn a blind eye to real estate agents like Terring Wang and let her bad faith, unethical and malicious behavior affect the life of good faith home applicants and their families. Terring Wang’s bad faith has caused tremendous inconvenience and emotional stress. We have a move-out date scheduled for July 30th, and because of her unethical and malicious behavior, we might be forced to send our belongings to storage and stay in a hotel with our child while we look for a new home.
