How do I get the lowest rate? Is the lowest rate always best?
The lowest rates are typically reserved for the buyer with strong finances, a credit score of 740 or higher, and a down payment of at least 20%. Of course, most buyers don’t tick all those boxes. Why does a 15-year fixed mortgage have a lower rate than a 30-year?

What’s the deal with points and credits?
