I have lived on the Mendocino Coast since 1995 and know in my heart there isn't a place I would rather live. Whether I'm driving down the road or going for a walk on the beach I always have a chance to enjoy the amazing scenery and wildlife. I love the small town charm and how friendly and helpful the people are here. I started in the Real Estate business in 1989 as an office manager. In 1997 I received my real estate license and began working for Coast Real Estate and in May of 2012 I received my Brokers license. My husband is a craftsman and a licensed building contractor which has helped me develop a keen eye for details and quality of construction. We completed building our first home together on a beautiful property in Fort Bragg. With my 24 years of experience in the Real Estate field I have developed my skills into a "Top Notch" Realtor. I pride myself in being open and honest, if I don't have all the answers I will find them for you! Selling property on the Mendocino Coast is rewarding in many ways – finding that perfect oceanfront or country property for a client, meeting new people and making long term friendships, not to mention being surrounded by the beauty of the ocean every day. My clients satisfaction and comfort with their real estate decision is very important to me. I want them to know I am available at all times, my services don't end at the close of the sale. As a native Californian I have realized the Mendocino Coast is a very unique place to live. It is no wonder that people who could live anywhere in the world choose to live here.

A native of Piedmont, California, I attended college in Chico and spent the first seven years following graduation working in marketing with a specialty in aging demographics. But, having grown up as the daughter of a real estate developer, this business is in my blood; you could say that I was raised on "brick and mortar." In 1995, I began my career as a Real Estate Agent with Elmwood Realty & Investments in Berkeley — mastering the art of both residential and investment sales — in the highly regulated Bay Area communities. I haven't looked back since. My talents were recognized when, in 2005, I was offered the opportunity to become the owner of Elmwood Realty. After a number of successful years, I met my husband (owner of the Brewery Gulch Inn), sold my Berkeley brokerage to San Francisco based McGuire Real Estate and relocated to the beautiful Coastal Mendocino and re-started what I love doing most: buying and selling properties for my clients. I just celebrated my 5-year anniversary with living on the coast and working with Mendo Realty. Within a relatively short period of time, I successfully completed an impressive list of sales for my clients. I am a big believer in presenting my listings to their greatest advantage and this is why I always use professional photography. In today's market, our buyers are primarily coming from out-of-area and you must present in its best light. In addition to real estate, I am also involved in my family's vineyard in the Anderson Valley. I enjoy performing the duties of a "vineyard ambassador" for wineries that we sell grapes to. In 2012 my husband, father, step-daughter, daughter, and I embarked on a multi-generational adventure and started our own wine label, Fathers and Daughters Cellars — exploring three of the best things in life: fathers, daughters, and wine.

Mendocino is one of the most beautiful places on earth! I would be delighted to assist you with your home search whether you are a first time homebuyer or an experienced homebuyer looking for your next home, vacation property, or investment property. Of course, there are many reasons to move away, and if you are looking to sell your home I will work hard to satisfy you and have a smooth transition while you sell your house. Call me for a free home evaluation. Every day is different here, perhaps it is the clouds that look bigger, the mysterious fog that rolls in and blankets the coast, the fresh burst of flowers in springtime and the dramatic sunsets in the winter. In addition to being a Realtor, I have a B.A. from Brooks Institute of Photography in 1982. I spent over 20 years in the Professional Photography business before making the career change to real estate, now I am a happy Realtor helping people like you with all of your real estate transactions. When you list your home with me, the beautiful photographs of your house and gardens are always included. I was born in Boston, grew up in Berkeley and moved here with my family during high school years where I graduated from Mendocino High School. I received my B.A. From Brooks Institute of Photography, and moved to Los Angeles for 10 years working as a Professional photographer. I moved back to Mendocino in 1990 to raise my children, the small town atmosphere good for raising a family. And my family has lived in Little River for over 40 years... Having lived here more than 25 years, I know the areas, so let me save you some time and show you around!
The Mendocino Coast has been a part of my life since 1977 when I arrived here and felt at home with the area and ocean. My daughter, Jamie, who now attends college in Santa Barbara, was born here and went through the schools in Mendocino. I have a local history that goes back almost 30 years, so I have a geographical knowledge of the area and neighborhoods that few other Realtors have. I became a Realtor in 1989 and upgraded my license to Real Estate Broker in 1993. I served as president of the Coastal Mendocino Association of Realtors (CMAR) in 1996 and subsequently as Chair of the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). I am very active on my local board, still serving as Secretary, and believe that keeps me in touch with current real estate issues. I also serve on the Board of Directors of the Mendocino Cancer Resource Center, the Mendocino historical cemetery board, and I'm a Soroptomist. I have personally been through the coastal and inland building processes, from permits to final inspections, and understand the chronology of taking a raw piece of land and making it a home. I feel this hands-on knowledge makes me better equipped to help my clients achieve their goals. My strengths are problem solving, negotiating, maintaining an excellent rapport with the other agents on the Coast, and the ability to see the positive side of situations. I enjoy working with people and I feel fortunate that my work has led me to many new friends who were former clients. Please visit my website www.cherirealtor.com for more information.
