I came from the IT industry before I went into real estate. I was looking for a profession that offered me more flexibility in my schedule so I can spend more time with my children. Real estate seemed to be the answer. I've been in the business since the fall of 2003. I started my real estate career working for an independent brokerage selling resale homes. After doing a 2-3 years of resale homes, I made a change and worked for a staffing firm for builders. I worked as a sales temp with various builders (Lennar, Shea, Pulte,etc) to gain the necessary skills and experience builders require. Eventually, I was hired by a builder as a full-time employee to sell its homes. This experience helped me to understand the new home construction business and its nuances.
