  • Darlene and I connected, but did no business

I am talking about Hastings property management, email said network properties LLC in Hendersonville,TN. If I could leave less than one star, I would. I just got off the phone with DARLENE who called me from her personal phone number to chastise me, VERY unprofessionally, about following up about a rental location for a week. She said I was “badgering” her employees and making a scene regarding an application approval we had been waiting on for a week. They made it sound nothing but promising and understanding of our situation. We were having to pay 4000+ of upfront costs to move in and comfortable with that ridiculous amount. I did NOT at ANY time receive any inclination that I was burdensome to the employees, as the woman I had been speaking with seemed very polite and understanding of the situation. She said her son also worked for tips and vouched that I had been very professional and polite with her. She said she would talk to the owner of the property and let them know that our income was more than they assumed, which we would have gladly provided any additional verification they needed upon request. I had thought that my significant other being a supervisor and his salary would have been enough proof?? I guess not. Mind you our lease is up the 23rd, and we will have to now stay with friends for we have nowhere to live. We are going to be homeless for the time being. Darlene told me that they are a business and they do not care about our circumstances. Please, listen to the conversation. It’s literally verbatim and all on there and she said she recorded it. I can provide additional information if need be. Again she said the call was being recorded, so please, if anyone can access this recording, PLEASE do so! Seriously listen to it. I am so surprised and upset that an employee would act this way, chastise me and belittle me to the extent that this woman did. I’m not one to exaggerate, and she has made this process even more miserable than it’s already been. I thought I was already having a horrible day, but thanks to Darlene, I’m on the verge of a breakdown. I seriously cannot believe this woman treated me that way. I am so shocked. I don’t think I can adequately express how dumbfounded I am from this extremely harsh backlash. We have been actively looking for houses for months, to allow space for us and our dogs, and ample distance from our job positions within a reasonable budget. Anyone who’s been searching knows that it has been extremely hard to find and actually land a rental property or even purchase a house lately. It seems that they frequently have 5 preceding applications and get taken up so quick the moment they are listed. It has been rough looking for a house around our area. Whoever I had been speaking to on the phone previously, had sounded very kind and compassionate about our situation. We are desperate to find a home at this point, she seemed to understand and I in no way received any inclination that merely being consistent following up with an application was a burden to these people, at all. The woman had expressed to me in previous calls that people apply for a house before seeing it often, because that’s the way the market is now, it’s crazy! She knew! Let me assure you, we make more than enough money to pay for what this location was asking for on rent. I work for tips, but I do well and my boyfriend is a supervisor currently. We are honest hardworking people and do our best to be professional. We both were education majors in college, so I can assure you we know how to be professional and correspond accordingly to situations within a given time frame. In no way did I feel like I was bothering these people, to which it is their job to assist people in finding a home. I am very disappointed and extremely sad with this experience, genuinely. We have been through so much, as I imagine many of you all have during this time. I cannot believe I was treated with such malice and lack of compassion. This woman doesn’t know me, or what I’ve been through. Can someone please do something?
