James Cardamone

Jim graduated from Middlebury College in Vermont with an English Department degree in American Literature in 1976. Though not recruited for the ski team, he soon made the traveling team and competed in the Division 1 NCAA Championships three out of four years. One highlight for him was third place in the Eastern Collegiate Championships in Downhill as a freshman. He was also Alpine Ski Team Captain senior year. “Many of my ski racing teammates and competitors have become my lifelong friends.” Some of these ski racing contacts led to sales and marketing work with K2 Skis through 1981. Adventures with the ski team and then K2 inspired Jim to head West to Colorado. Skiing and kayaking were the draws, but the life style hooked him.
