I first contacted Jen Rierson over a year ago to casually inquire about taking the steps to eventually buy a home. Jen said she was a no pressure realtor, and she certainly lived up to that promise! She sent me several resources to educate myself on the market and lending options, and encouraged me to stay in touch. Above all, she made buying a home again much less fearful for me - I was impacted by the housing crisis 10 years ago, and sold my first home at a huge loss. I didnt want to repeat that experience again. Jen understood my position and took care to provide realistic advice and assurances that the market was much different today than it was back then. Even so, I was hesitant. She reached out to me on occasion over several months, and when I gave her a target date to get more serious, she respected it. When that date came, she got me in touch with her preferred lender to get pre-approved before we looked at the homes together. Jen then set up a drip for available homes, and she spent an entire Saturday with us looking at 6 homes together. She was completely invested in us the entire day. Jen had already compd most of the homes beforehand and gave us great advice on what to watch out for, and how much the HOA fees, mello-Roos etc would impact total monthly cost. We ended up putting an offer in on a home that met most of our wishlist whilst coming in below our total monthly budget. This home already had an offer outstanding. Jen was an excellent realtor for us. We purchased a home in San Diego from Washington DC, without the option of traveling to San Diego to look at the houses ourselves. Jen went the extra mile by Facetime and Skype to give us about 30 virtual property tours. And she was comprehensive by showing us video of the neighborhoods, the entire house (inside and out), basically everything we would have seen on an actual tour. During the times when our schedules couldn't line up Jen went to the homes and took a video log of the house to then forward us the several (5 - 10) clips of the house for us to look at when we could. Besides the distance video tours, Jen was all over the questions we asked, and we asked alot of questions (just kind of our process). Overall excellent experience with Jen. We highly recommend Jen for anyone considering buying or selling a home! We were looking to downsize but needed to find something within the same school boundaries. This limited our options and had us a little worried about finding something. Jen knew the market well and had no doubts that wed find what we were looking for. She set us up on a system that alerted us immediately when a house with our specifications listed. When wed see a house we were interested in, Jen was very quick to get us additional information and make arrangements for us to see it.
