    • My husband and I first worked with Matt when we bought a duplex in Novato. We worked with him again 4 years later when we sold the property and needed to do a 1031 exchange in order to purchase a property in Truckee. Both transactions went smoothly in no small part due to his knowledge and professionalism. We look forward to working with him again.

    • After mom passed away, we weren't sure if we wanted to keep the house in San Francisco. More than a year later, dad decided he did want to sell. Looking for a realtor, even a good one, isn't easy, especially since my husband and I live in Los Angeles...but we found one.We showed the house to Matt in February. He found a buyer within a week and at the price we wanted. This was great as it meant we didn't have to come up every weekend. Not only that but he helped us through what seemed like an endless stream of paperwork and signings. He was a pleasure to deal with and responsive to any concerns we had. the I would recommend him to anyone interested in buying or selling. Thanks Matt for everything.

    • My husband and I really enjoyed working with Matt when we were trying to sell our house in Potrero Hill during the recession. We were working with another agent, but were unsuccessful. We went through two or three price reductions, and still couldn't seem to find an interested buyer. When we hired Matt, he helped sell our house faster than we expected. Needless to say, we were pleasantly surprised.Matt is very knowledgeable about real estates in SF. We liked the fact that he is detail-oriented and was very responsive to our needs. If you need to sell / buy properties, we HIGHLY recommend Matt to be your agent. He always acts in his clients' best interest, and he will get the job done.

    • As a first-time buyer and now new homeowner, I count myself very lucky to know Matt Hilzendrager. At every step of the way, Matt was super-responsive and always willing to help me decode complex processes, practices and industry jargon. In particular, I really appreciated Matt's specialized expertise in the San Francisco market, including his encyclopedic knowledge of its neighborhoods, transportation systems, byzantine regulatory environment, etc. On the service side, Matt also excels. For example, knowing that I appreciate vintage architecture (and despise modern, open floor plan "Ikea" remodels), Matt managed to find me listings with original architectural features (i.e, unaltered floor plans, original tile work and built-ins, etc.). During closing, Matt again excelled, managing to get me a credit when a couple undisclosed issues were found during inspection. Finally - and I think most tellingly - after closing Matt continues to be responsive, for example, helping me by sending contacts from his extensive Rolodex of trades and craftspeople.

    • Matt has been wonderful in guiding us through the exciting and stressful process of buying our first home in San Francisco. He is experienced, calm, good listener and warm. He does anything he can to make you feel honored as a client and to make the process as easy as possible. He is precise, detailed and most important, trust worthy. We would recommend him to anybody seeking to buy or sell their home in San Francisco. Chinnamasta and Mukunda Stiles

    • Matt was the agent who helped me sell my condo in this extremely difficult market. I just closed escrow on the sale yesterday. He worked diligently to get the deal done. His strong points are that he is very detailed orientated and he explains the entire process to you along the way, always keeping you up-to-date on the latest developments. His marketing is very extensive. Any means you can think of to market your house, he will be doing it. Matt brought along mortgage brokers to the open houses so that potential buyers could also apply for a loan. I thought this was very clever. Most of all, he really hustles to take care of all the little things that are required in selling your property (i.e. making sure the property complies with all of the inspections; making sure all of the closing ppwk is in order; working with you to deal with all parties like the HOA, etc..). Bottom line, any real estate agent can sell a property in a good market. The good agents are the ones who can sell and close in a bad market. Matt is one of those agents.
