Pat Burgess

I was born in Buffalo, NY, the youngest of four children. I grew up in NJ, within the NY metropolitan area. Sadly, as a young teenager, my father passed away. As the youngest, my mom was very clear with me, she had obligations to put my brothers through college. As the youngest and a girl, I was on my own. Financially my mom was just not able to fulfill everyone's wishes. That kicked me in gear! I had a job at 14, and I have never looked back. I put myself through Boston College, working multiple jobs and bartering for food at "Haymarket" with a $10 food budget per week. Necessity is the mother of invention! From College my career began in advertising on the McDonald's account. However, as the technology boom accelerated, I realized that was the "pool I wanted to swim in", so I moved to high end business systems sales for AT&T, then Rolm Corporation, and then national marketing for IBM.
