- Priscilla listed and sold my home
Excellent! I have used Priscilla when purchasing two homes, and the selling of this home. She is. Very knowledgeable and pays attention to every detail.
- Priscilla and I connected, but did no business
Stay far away from Priscilla “Pris” English. This woman is the worst realtor I’ve dealt with - and I’ve bought homes in three different states. She’s not motivated to do anything but the bare minimum (and sometimes not even that), and/or always on vacation and/or makes excuses when you confront her with reality. In our case, it started off poorly when she (and the seller’s) misstated the age of the HVAC system. They claimed it was from 2014. The inspection revealed that only a small part of it was replaced in 2014 but the system itself was almost 20 years old! She admitted that she just copied and pasted the previous sellers’ disclosures on this listing. Then, we noticed during our second walk thru (in April) that there was a large amount of food in the fridge that was dated in early January. Much of it was molding, rotted and dissolving in the fridge. We told her about it several times. It remained in the fridge for a month after we told her about it. Her failures continued when we realized the sellers removed one of two specific items we’d ask to keep as part of the sale of the house. Pris admitted she didn’t see those items in the contract and therefore the sellers didn’t know about it. Then, my realtor went into the house to check on the type of ceiling fan in one of the bedrooms and noticed the power was out in the house (two weeks before closing). As a result, there was water leaking from the freezer, which was defrosting and still had food (chicken) in it. Water had leaked onto the floor and OUR realtor cleaned it up. Pris had no idea. She also didn’t seem to care. After all of this - my realtor realized she would need to do not only her own job but Pris’s job too. So, she gently reminded her several times that the contract called for professionally cleaning the house and professionally cleaning and stretching the carpets. No response. The week before closing, the lawyers told us that we may have to delay the closing because the bank didn’t send in a satisfaction on a loan from the previous owners. No response from Pris. OUR realtor ended up calling in a favor to get proof of satisfaction from the bank so we could close on time. No response from Pris (who was cc’d on these emails). I wish I could give this story a happy ending. Alas, we walked into our new home the night before closing and found dead bugs, dust, cup stains on counters, dirty (and smelly) toilet bowls, pots, dishes, cups, and spare tires still in/around the house. And there was styrofoam all over the carpet - which hadn’t been vacuumed in awhile, much less professionally cleaned or stretched. When confronted with this blatant breach of contract, Pris claimed she didn’t have an invoice for the cleaning of the house because the sellers used HER cleaning lady, but she said we were free to call this woman (who was not with any cleaning company). When pushed on providing an invoice for the carpet cleaning she finally came clean (no pun intended) and admitted the carpets were never professionally cleaned or stretched. She said the sellers were low on cash, and couldn’t afford the cleaning. At this point I should mention that - this contract had been ongoing for TWO MONTHS and we paid DOUBLE due diligence fees during that time period. Then, despite several reminders, Pris basically expected us to pay to haul away the trash left in the house AND pay to professionally clean and stretch the carpets - despite that being an explicit term they agreed to in the contract. At that point, we just wanted to be done with this woman. We asked for a $300 credit and Pris wrote a long winded “woe is me” type email (not agreeing to give us the credit). She blamed THE SELLERS. Then, she went on to say she “wasn’t God.” She ended it by saying she had other clients to get to (so, basically, she was done with this issue and couldn’t be bothered with addressing a blatant breach of contract 2 hours before closing). If this is how an Allen Tate realtor acts I am SHOCKED at how they stay in business. This behavior blows my mind. Save yourself the aggravation and hire someone else!
