Twenty years ago my husband and I moved our young family from Denver to Colorado Springs for three reasons. The first was Colorado Springs itself. A beautiful place that offered big city amenities with small city “feel” for raising our family. The second reason was the excellent schools. Throughout our tenure here, I have taught in the public and charter school systems, as well as within the homeschooling community. My own children attended an excellent K-12 school, and received a thorough education. I know our school systems well. When raising a family, it is important to understand the neighborhood you are joining and the local school community in particular is very import. The school’s community cultivates family like system as it tends to mold the family's schedule and friendships. Third, my husband took a great job with a great local homebuilder.
