  • Stephen helped me buy a home

Extremely poor communication and no moral conscience. After we got approved for the new place and had confirmed this several times so that we could be comfortable turning down all our other approved homes, Stephen refused to give us any paperwork to sign until we had paid him a deposit, which is very out of the norm. As such, we asked if we could have some confirmation in writing before paying him money or if we could sign the lease and pay the deposit at the same time, a very reasonable proposition. His response was "we don't like that question, and so we are selling the home to someone else". I called him to ask what happened since we had just confirmed several times that we had gotten the place and were ready to sign a lease immediately, and he said he didn't like that we didn't follow his instructions exactly and that he had given the place away already. I'm shocked by his level of immorality and unprofessionalism.

    • Stephen and I connected, but did no business

I had a terrible experience working with Stephen. He seemed very enthusiastic, so I was excited to work with him; however, I found that he lacked communication around extremely important matters and did not, in fact, have my best interests at heart and consistently circumvented the truth. I was very disappointed by my experience with Stephen and would be very wary of renting or buying through him.

      • Stephen listed and sold my home

Sold my home with Stephen. He sold the home and knew a lot about the area, since he lives here. although he sold my home, I did not enjoy the process and should have switched to a different agent

        • Stephen never responded to my request

My husband and I found a townhouse for rent via Zillow & Trulia in South San Francisco. We were so excited about the place, and applied that same day. We paid the application fee, ran background check and credit score check. We also sent Stephen a message regarding the townhouse in hopes of setting up a viewing. Stephen responded to our email almost immediately, but the context of the email had nothing to do with the rental. His message was "Are you friends of ---?" Confused, we messaged him again explaining that we were interested in the rental and that we submitted an application via Zillow. Days went by, we did not hear back. We were notified via Zillow app that our application had not been opened or looked at. It just seems odd to me for someone to post an ad listing a home, have people apply and not communicate with them. Seems irresponsible and a little fishy. Not someone I'd recommend to work with.
