I hope my review helps at least 1 person who is on the house market, selling or buying. Be aware of this agent Tayaa Mraihi with Long & Foster Realtors, he also goes by Tony. He was not my agent, he was seller's agent. But I would like to share my experience of working with this person. I am in search of a house and after a few months of looking there was this house I thought I would love to live in. Well, Tayaa Mraihi happened to represent the seller. Man, I was able to see the house only on my 3rd attempt because my agent couldn't get in touch with Mr. Mraihi. That should have been a red flag for me. My agent emailed and left voicemail messages. Finally I saw the house only when selling agent had the open house over the weekend. When I asked him about voicemails left by my agent he responded that he didn't check his work phone, and didn't get the messages. Ok, interesting, not checking his main work line listed for him..... Anyway, I see the house, I love it even though it needs some work done, but I love the location and layout. And, as they say in the south - bless my heart, I made an offer and went under contract. Quiz: What real estate agent doesn't own a scanner in 2014? Well, I have an answer - Tayaa Mraihi. My agent had to find a way to send him faxes every time. Just imagine what the contract looked like after 3 rounds of faxing it..... it was unreadable. Throughout the whole process Mr. Mraihi was hardly reachable, he was very short on the phone as if he had more important things to do than his work. Which I am ok with someone being busy, but there is some professional demeanor and work ethics, no? He rarely called back, was hard to reach. I applause my agent's patience in working with this person. Back to my story. The inspection came back with too many issues: i.e. 5 gas leaks, hvac wasn't working, the inspector couldn't turn on furnace and gas stove because of the gas in the air. Mr. Mraihi is still short on the phone, refuses to give any credit to fix the issues. He offered to fix them, but considering his work ethics I didn't trust him hiring the cheapest labor or someone he knew to fix gas. I mean I don't want my new house to be the epicenter of fireworks when I move in. My plan is to live at least other 40-50 years. So I back out. What happened to always short and too busy to talk to us Mr. Mraihi?? He called my agent 7 times, texted him multiple times, left voicemails within 2 hours of receiving my paperwok. He yelled at my agent for letting me walk away, which I am within my rights.... He acted as if he and my agent are on one team, while seller and buyer (I am) are on another. And agents' tasks are to make sure the transaction happens no matter what and they both get their commissions. End of story, any issues after the transaction are not their problems. SERIOUSLY??? I sent my final notice not to proceed with the purchase on October 31st. Today is November 9th and I still haven't received my release forms, therefore my earnest money of $7k is still sitting with the title company. And no idea when he sends the paperwork. But check this out: the house was back on the market (updated in the system) the next day and he had an open house today. And I am still short of my money. My agent requested and demanded the paperwork from Tayaa Mraihi multiple times this week and told him that his client is putting together an official complain with Long and Foster. Mr. Tayaa Mraihi's response was "I don't care". People be aware, even if this person is not your agent, but you find a house that you really like and he represents the seller - well, all I can say is good luck to you. But better try and look for another property. Good luck.
