Margaret is a native North Carolinian from Durham. After graduating from UNC-Greensboro, she moved back to Durham and worked in the Human Resources field for 10 years. In 1994, she and her husband, Mark, moved to Charlotte to take over Margaret’s father’s business, The VanLandingham Estate, a historic estate for wedding and special events. After running this special events venue/catering business for four years, they decided to move to Blowing Rock to raise their children. Having had a vacation home in the High Country since 1985, they thought this was the perfect place to raise their family. And they were right! They have two daughters who are now in college, Molly and Maggie. From 2000-2006, Margaret and Mark owned Kojay’s Cafe in Blowing Rock and Banner Elk.
