Patricia Owen

Like so many other UNC graduates, I fell in love with the southern part of heaven and I chose to stay and build a life here. Two of my children are graduates of the Chapel Hill Carrboro School System and my youngest is currently enjoying her experience at McDougle Elementary School. I have had a high school senior and kindergartener simultaneously (twice!), which may give me the title of "longest continuous family enrollment" in the Chapel Hill Carrboro School System. At the very least, it has given me broad sweep of experiences with the communities, neighborhoods and culture that make up our area and its surrounding locales. I currently serve on the school improvement team for McDougle, volunteer for the PTA and have served on various boards for childcare centers and childcare advocacy groups.
