Reginald Francois

Me and my husband are in the process of buying a property in the NoVA area. While our agent works very hard, we recently encountered Mr. Francois as a listing agent of the property that we were interested in. It is crucial to understand that NoVA area is known for its very fast paced real estate market. Houses here can be sold same-day after listing it. Thus, timing is everything here. We saw a listing on Friday, liked the house, and contacted our agent regarding it. She had started contacting him right after our notice and left him MULTIPLE voice mails and MULTIPLE emails. She never heard from him. On Tuesday I saw that the house is under contract, with a kick out clause (which means that the seller can back out of the deal if somebody sends a better offer). I decided to call the listing agent myself. Mr. Francois had stated to me that THERE IS in fact a kick-out clause and he suggested that I and my husband send him an offer for the house. I contacted our realtor, so she could discuss with him the details. I was absolutely shocked when our realtor called us back and informed us that he stated that I must have misunderstood him, that there is no kick-out clause in the contract and that no other offers will be accepted at this point. When she asked why he did not respond to her calls/voicemails/emails, he could not even come up with a good reason (with any reason, really). After this news I have decided to call him back. Granted, nobody answered when I called from the phone number that I used initially. I had to find another phone to make the call, so he would finally answer. Mr. Francois has stated that he never told me to send him an offer for the property and he never said there was a kick-out clause (but he confirmed to our relator he did enter it wrong on the listing). So, now he has lied to me about what he said to me only an hour ago! I am not looking to do anything mean, but I just wanted to let people know about this incident. I am using my freedom of speech to let people know what they can expect if you have business dealings with this guy.
