How My First House Hunt Changed Everything It all started in my mid-20s when my wife and I began hunting for our first home. The experience left a bitter taste, but turned out to be a career-changing moment for me. In hindsight, I'm thankful to have experienced firsthand the same challenges many Bay Area home buyers encounter. We literally felt as if that 6-month period of home searching consumed everything in our lives: days off from our jobs, energy, time and of course all of our savings.
