Initial consultation with Willem was excellent. He came across as knowledgeable about real estate in both the management and selling of property. I appreciated this since the property was an investment property for me. He also paid attention to the features of the property that demonstrated knowledge of issues that come up when inspectors give their reports, etc. in the escrow process and this knowledge came across in his comments when he and I "walked" my property. I interviewed other agents you referred to me who would spend the initial consultation discussing the selling price and impressing me for how much I could sell the property. (Willem and I only discussed a range of prices at this phase.) I can not stress enough how significant Willems's characteristic of quiet and sincere knowledge of real estate was to me at our initial meeting. All other agents were keen on grabbing my attention with financial figures, which made me suspicious of their ability to be effective salespeople down the road when real issues pertaining to the property would be coming up. Agents should remind themselves that they need to show knowledge of the product they are selling, which is real estate. Many of them seem to think they are selling "themselves. My first impression of Willem was accurate and I was not disappointed with his performance throughout the escrow process. He actually saved the sale when it was canceled by the buyer by reading the HOA budget in enough detail to convince the buyer that the HOA was in healthier financial condition that most other HOAs in the area. One suggestion with regards to your services. I was not clear on Willem's relationship with his brokerage company, Compass. He was referred to me by Homelight as an agent from a different firm, Mission something. It was confusing to me because I interviewed two agents from Compass because of this misinformation, when I only intended to interview one from each firm referred to me by you. I hope that Willem has corrected the affiliation to Compass with your offices.
