Fred Burroughs

My experience with Fred Burroughs was nothing short of awful. I had a great opportunity to get a home, from another agent, but I needed to sell my mobile home quickly. I decided to list at least 10K lower than what I thought it would sell for, with Fred because I thought that he may have more contacts with people who wanted to buy mobile homes. My foremost request was to get my listing onto Zillow and Trulia, ASAP! Fred mentioned the new listing to his associate, who wanted to purchase our mobile home. He thought he had a slam dunk and did nothing to see if she was qualified. He failed to get the listing onto Zillow and Trulia but he managed to get some small realty groups to pick up the listing. We had people who were interested in visting our home, call our personal home phone number, which Fred placed on the listing....He didn't even use his own phone number!! Strangers were calling us, after 9 pm, asking to schedule a tour. Since we really wanted our new home and no other leads were coming in, we asked Fred to write up the contract. Did he do it? No, he had his associate, the one who wanted to purchase our home, draw up a contract.. he didn't even do that. We were ready to sign the papers for our new home and place 20K, as a down payment. Something inside me thought, you never saw anything showing that the purchaser was qualified to buy the home. I asked Fred to show me a pre-qualification letter from the bank or financial information that would indicate that his associate had the money. He couldn't provide anything! The purchaser never had any funds, she was hoping to borrow the money from her brother! Needless to say, we lost out on the home but at least I thought to ask for the pre-qualification letter and spared myself from loosing 20K. When I asked to be released from the contract, due to his incompetence, I was not allowed to!!! Cole realty and Fred Burroughs should not have their license. I will wait to see if the realtor ethics board can get me out of this contract...if not, I will wait to list our home when this contract expires.
